RECENTLY Oregon finished 14th at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invite. Eugene Harris was the Ducks' top finisher, placing third at 165 pounds. Heavyweight Eric Webb and 133-pounder Jason Harless finished seventh while Brian Watson finished eighth at 141 pounds. At the Southern Oregon Open, the Ducks claimed two indivdual titles and shared a third. Sophomore Jason Harless (133) defeated Ozzie Saxon of North Idaho College, 7-6, in the champioship match. Harless won by technical fall and fall before facing Saxon in the final match. Junior Brian Watson (141) also repeated what he had done in 2000, winning the indvidual title, only this season he picked up the win at 141 after winning at 133 last year. At 165, Oregon senior Eugene Harris and sophomore Luke Larwin (wrestling unattached) met in the finals, but did not wrestle. The two were named co-champions.
A LOOK AT OREGON STATE The Beavers (4-1 overall, 1-1 Pac-10) finished ninth at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invite and have lost only to No. 8 Arizona State. Five Oregon State wrestlers are nationally ranked, including No. 6 Nathan Coy (174 pounds).
