Women's Basketball to Hold Toy & Food Drives This Weekend

TEMPE, Ariz. - The Arizona State women's basketball team will hold a toy drive at its Friday, Dec. 21 game vs. Stanford and a food drive at its Sunday, Dec. 23 game vs. California at Wells Fargo Arena.

Fans at Friday night's game against sixth-ranked Stanford, which tips off at 7 p.m., will receive free admission by bringing a new, unwrapped toy for area children.

At Sunday's game with Cal, which tips off at 11 a.m., fans will be admitted to the game for free when they bring a non-perishable food item, which will be donated to the St. Vincent De Paul food bank.

Valley trumpeter Jesse McGuire will also perform the national anthem at Sunday's game at Wells Fargo Arena.

The weekend's games mark the beginning of the Pac-10 season for the 2001 conference co-champion Sun Devils. Arizona State is 9-2 on the year and has won its last seven games.
