JC Linebacker Kevin Sperry Signs With Cougars

PULLMAN, Wash. --- Los Angeles Harbor College linebacker Kevin Sperry has signed a national letter of intent to play football for Washington State University next fall.
Sperry will begin classes in January and has three years of remaining eligibility. The 6-2, 225-pounder is a native of Torrance, Calif., and graduated from North Torrance High School in 1997.
Sperry was one of only seven freshmen to be named first team All-Western State Conference Pacific Division in 2001, and racked up 31 tackles in consecutive games this season.

HIGH SCHOOL: Attended North Torrance high, graduating in 1997.
JUNIOR COLLEGE: Attended Los Angeles Harbor CC...FRESHMAN (2001) made 12 sacks and 17 TFL...set team record with 17 tackles in one game and had 14 tackles the previous week...All-Western State Conference first team selection for the Pacific Division, one of seven freshmen named to the team...team finished 5-5 and was the fifth ranked defensive team among California community colleges, giving up only 54 yards rushing per game...ranked 75th among national junior college players according to jcfootball.com.
WSU CAREER: Will enroll in January, 2002, and participate in spring drills...enrolls as sophomore.
