Granville, Trojans Hurl Huskies

SEATTLE (AP) - Brandon Granville scored a career-high 27 points to leadSouthern California to an 87-65 victory over Washington Thursday night.
Granville, the Trojans' all-time leader in assists (647) and 3-pointers(188), hit 4-of-6 3-pointers as Southern California won its fifth straight gameand sixth in a row over Washington (6-5, 0-2 Pac-10).
Southern Cal (9-2, 1-0), which reached the Elite Eight in the 2001 NCAATournament, has opened its conference schedule with a win in each of the lastfour seasons.
The Trojans used an attacking defense to force the Huskies into aseason-high 25 turnovers.
The Huskies were led by Erroll Knight's 13. Josh Barnard added 10. DougWrenn, who entered the game as Washington's leading scorer with a 17.3-pointaverage, was held to eight.
The Huskies never got closer than 15 points in the second half.
Southern Cal jumped out to a quick 13-4 advantage by 3:11 into game. TheHuskies struggled in bringing the ball up the court against the Trojans'full-court pressure defense.
Southern Cal increased its advantage to 16 before the Huskies' Erroll Knightfollowed his 3-pointer with a dunk that cut the lead to 36-25 with 3:40 to playin the half. Granville responded with eight points in the next minute on two3-pointers and a breakaway layin.
Washington couldn't recover, and the Trojans led 48-32 at the half.
