Cal's Trevor Hutchinson Named Third Team Preseason All-American in Baseball America

DURHAM, NC - California senior right-hander Trevor Hutchinson has been selected Third Team Preseason All-American, it was announced Jan. 3 by Baseball America.

Hutchinson, who was a 20th round draft pick of the New York Mets in last June's Amateur Draft, was 6-7 for the Golden Bears last season with a 3.85 ERA and 91 strikeouts in a team-high two complete games and 114.7 innings pitched. He was a key to Cal qualifying for a 2001 NCAA Regional in Baton Rouge, LA, the Bears first NCAA Regional appearance since the 1995 season.

Cal begins its 2002 season with a three game series at UNLV, beginning February 1 at 6:30 p.m. in Las Vegas, NV.
