UCLA Soccer Players Join U.S. National Team Training Camps

Current UCLA men's soccer players Mike Enfield, Adolfo Gregorio and Alex Yi have been selected to participate in various U.S. youth national team training camps.

Enfield, a freshman midfielder from Ventura, CA, will train with the U.S. U-20 National Team from Jan. 2-12. The U-20s will play against the Canadian U-20s on Jan. 9. The U.S. will also face three regional teams at the ARCO Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, CA.

Gregorio, a sophomore midfielder from Hilmar, CA, and Yi, a sophomore defender from Easton, MD, will train with the U.S. Under-23 National Team in Claremont, CA from Jan. 5-12. Also in camp with Gregorio and Yi is former UCLA goalkeeper DJ Countess.

Also training in Claremont for the CONCACAF Gold Cup is the full national team. Seven former Bruins have been selected to the 28-man camp - defender Carlos Bocanegra, defender Frankie Hejduk, midfielder Cobi Jones, midfielder Eddie Lewis, forward Ante Razov, goalkeeper Nick Rimando and defender Greg Vanney. The team opens Group B play against South Korea on Jan. 19 and meets Cuba Jan. 21. Both games are at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif.
