Cal Men's Swimming Defeats UNLV, 166.5-88.5

LAS VEGAS, NV - Paced by sophomore Alex Lim, the California men's swimming team (2-1) defeated UNLV, 166.5-88.5, Monday, Jan. 7 in a dual meet at Buchanan Natatorium in Las Vegas. The Golden Bears took 10 of the meet's 14 events with Lim winning the 100 (48.19) and 200 fly (1:46.91).

Other individual winners for Cal included junior Anthony Ervin in the 50 free (20.07), freshman Duje Draganja (44.69) in the 100 free, junior Joe Bruckart in the 200 free (1:38.62), junior Daniel Kim in the 100 breast (56.57), sophomore Steve Rehrmann in the 200 back (1:53.68) and freshman Caleb Rowe in the 200 breast (2:05.84).

The Bears also captured the 200 medley relay (1:30.10 Lim, Kim, Draganja, Ervin) and the 400 free relay (2:57.95 Ervin, senior Matt Macedo, junior Trent Holsman, Draganja)

Cal will next host Pacific, Monday, Jan. 14 at 12 p.m. at Spieker Aquatics Complex, before traveling to Dallas, Tex. for The Dallas Morning News Invitational, Jan. 18-19.
