No. 23 Oregon Upends Willamette, 71-48

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - Frederick Jones scored 19 points and Luke Ridnour added14 as No. 23 Oregon defeated Division III Willamette 71-48 Tuesday night in agame commemorating the 75th anniversary of McArthur Court.

On Jan. 14, 1927, the Ducks opened the building with a 38-10 victory overWillamette.

The victory gave the Ducks (13-4) an 11-0 home record for the first timesince 1938.

Despite the obvious mismatch, Willamette used two 3-pointers to take a 6-4lead.

Oregon then ended the Bearcats' dream with a 17-0 run. Early in the secondhalf, the Ducks went on a 15-1 run to take a 57-25 lead.

The Ducks then went to the bench.

B.J. Dobrkovsky led Willamette (11-5) with 13 points and Marques Johnson had10 points and 14 rebounds. The Bearcats outrebounded the bigger Oregon team44-38.

Oregon, which leads the Pacific-10 in scoring at 87.3 points per game, washeld to its lowest point total at home this year. However, Willamette waslimited to 27 percent shooting.
