Teams Announced For Saturday's Softball Alumnae Game

Jan. 23, 2002

The 2002 UCLA softball team will open its spring schedule this Saturday, January 26, with a 1 pm contest involving current and former players at Easton Stadium. The game will be preceeded by a clinic held on the UCLA campus. Persons interested in the clinic should contact the UCLA Camps office at 310-206-3550.

Three of UCLA's seven Olympic gold medalists from the 2000 Sydney Games will participate on Saturday, including current Bruins Amanda Freed and Stacey Nuveman, and current volunteer assistant coach Lisa Fernandez.

The Alumnae Game's ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by former Bruin Lisa Longaker (1987-90), a two-time Honda Award winner and three-time All-American, who was inducted to the UCLA Athletics Hall of Fame last fall.
