PULLMAN, Wash. - Brittney Hawks recorded her 10th double-double of the season with 19 points and 12 rebounds in the Washington State women's basketball team's 75-68 loss to the Washington Huskies at Friel Court, Friday night.
The loss dropped the Cougars to 2-18 overall and 0-10 in the Pacific-10 Conference. Washington improved to 11-8 overall and 6-4 in the conference.
Hawks performance marked the 16th game she has posted double digits in points this season. The senior from Rexburg, Idaho led a group of four Cougars that scored in double figures, which marked the first time that WSU has had that many players reach double-digits in a game this season. Candace Fields (13 points), Whitney Martindale (11 points) and Francine McCurtain (11 points) completed the quartet.
Andrea Lalum led a group of three Huskies to score in double figures with a career-high 25 points. Loree Payne scored 13 points and Kayla Burt added 10 points for the Huskies.

Leading 33-31 at halftime, the Cougars extended their lead to 50-41 with 11:22 remaining in the game. Washington would capture the lead with a 10-0 run over a 1:20 span, which gave the Huskies a 51-50 advantage at the 10:02 mark.
With the game tied at 55 with 8:34 left, four consecutive points by Payne began an 8-0 Washington run that gave the Huskies a 63-55 lead with 6:33 remaining.
Washington maintained its advantage and held a 67-59 lead with 5:14 remaining. On the momentum of a 7-0 run, the Cougars pulled to within 67-66 with 2:44 left.
