Women's Tennis Sweeps San Diego in Dual Meet

The University of Arizona women's tennis squad won all nine matches against the San Diego Toreros on Saturday. Arizona freshman Maja Mlakar continued her success in singles play this spring by topping San Diego's Paola Arrangoiz, 6-3, 6-1. In doubles action, UA's Mlakar and sophomore Debbie Larocque paired up to beat San Diego's Arrangoiz and Catherine Heppell, 8-1. Larocque defeated San Diego's Heppell in singles, 6-0, 6-2.

Wildcat freshman Debbie Hollands earned her first singles victory of the year over San Diego's Tara Livesay, 6-2, 6-0.

UA freshman Marie-Pier Pouliot and sophomore Perrine Pernin won their singles matches on Saturday. Pouliot defeated San Diego's Anne Seppi, 6-1, 6-1 while Pernin tripped up San Diego's Annie Rapp, 6-2, 6-0. Pouliot and Pernin teamed up in doubles and blanked San Diego's Rapp and Livesay, 8-0.

The Wildcats continue action on Sunday against No. 58 ranked New Mexico.
