Philip Ricci Named Pac-10 Men's Basketball Player of the Week

Walnut Creek, Cal. - OREGON STATE junior forward Philip Ricci has been named the Pacific-10 Conference Menï¿½s Basketball Player of the Week for January 22 - 27, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Ricci, from Galt, Calif., averaged 18.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.5 steals in a road sweep of the Washington schools.
Against Washington State, Ricci scored 16 points on 7-of-12 shooting, with six rebounds, five assists, two blocks and a steal. In the win at Washington two night later, he scored 21 points on 7-of-15 shooting with nine rebounds, three assists and four steals.
For the week, Ricci shot 14-of-27 (.519) from the field and was 8-of-9 (.889) from the free throw line. Ricci currently ranks seventh in the Pac-10 in scoring (16.6), eighth in rebounding (7.2) and third in blocks (1.83).
It is the first weekly award for Ricci, the 33rd all-time honor for the Beavers.
