Several Changes Made To Baseball Schedule
Feb. 6, 2002
SEATTLE - Several changes have been made recently to the Washington baseball team's 2002 schedule. The Huskies have added an exhibition game vs. the University of British Columbia during their trip to the A's Spring Training Tournament in the opening weekend of the season.
The Huskies will take on the Thunderbirds at 2:00 p.m. (MST) on Sat., Feb. 16. That game will not count towards the Huskies' season record as games against teams from countries outside of the United States do not count. Additionally, Washington's game vs. Northwestern on Fri., Feb. 15, has been moved to 3:00 p.m. and the game vs. Missouri on Sun., Feb. 17, is now at 12:30 p.m. Both of those games were originally scheduled for 10:00 a.m.
Also, Washington's three-game series at Arizona State will be played at Hohokam Park in Mesa, Ariz., spring training home of the Chicago Cubs, while ASU's Packard Stadium undergoes renovations. The games on Thu., Mar. 28 and Fri., Mar. 29, will now begin at 6:00 p.m. (MST) rather than the originally scheduled time of 7:00 p.m.
The Huskies, ranked No. 24 in Baseball America's preseason poll, open the 2002 season Feb. 14, at 7:00 p.m. (MST) vs. Missouri at Municipal Stadium in Phoenix, Ariz.
