No. 18 Softball Rallies For 4-3 Win Over McNeese State

With the game tied 1-1 in the top of the seventh inning, senior catcher Traci Feldt smacked a game-winning three-RBI double that let the No. 18 Oregon State softball team hold on for a 4-3 win at the Cal State-Northridge tournament Friday.

Down 1-0 to start the seventh, Brynnen Guthrie led off the inning with a solo homerun to tie the game, opening the floodgates for OSU (4-1 overall).

Following Guthrie's round-tripper, Clare Burnum roped a double, which was followed by consecutive walks by Shelly Prochaska and Steph Adams that loaded the bases for Feldt's double.

Burnum kept her hot hitting going for the season with a 2-for-4 performance that included her seventh double of the year. The junior is now batting .687 on 11-for-16 hitting.

Guthrie knocked in her team-leading eighth RBI with her third homerun of the season, and is batting .500 on 8-for-16 hitting.

Adams had her best day of the season at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a run, while Michelle Chariton was 2-for-3. As a team, the Beavers carry a .374 batting average on the year.

Pitcher Crystal Draper improved her record to 3-0 on the year while giving up just six hits.

Game times for the remainder of the tournament were changed slightly. On Saturday, OSU now plays Ohio State at 8:30 a.m., and CSUN at 1:10 p.m. The Sunday contests have OSU playing CSUN at 1:10 p.m., and San Diego at 3:30 p.m.
