No. 18 Cal Defeated by No. 9 Pepperdine

Berkeley, Calif. - The University of California Men's Tennis team suffered its third defeat of the season today at the hands of the higher-ranked Pepperdine Waves. With the loss, No. 18 Cal drops to 4-3 on the season, while No. 9 Pepperdine improves to 7-2.

Singles were played first. Sophomore Balazs Veress dropped Pepperdine's Calle Hansen by a 6-1, 7-5 mark. However, only freshman Mik Ledvonova was able to add a win, as the Waves won the remaining four courts.

Doubles were not played due to inclement weather.

Cal returns to Berkeley on Wednesday to take on San Diego State. The match is scheduled to begin at 1:30 at Hellman Tennis Complex.
