Men's Basketball Player of the Week
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - USC senior forward David Bluthenthal has been named the Pacific-10 Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for February 12 - 17, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Bluthenthal, from Los Angeles, Calif., averaged 26.0 points and 9.5 rebounds in a sweep of the Arizona schools last week.
In the win over Arizona State, Bluthenthal came off the bench to collect 21 points on 7-of-12 (.583) shooting while adding a team-high 10 rebounds. In the upset victory over ninth-ranked Arizona, he scored a career-high 31 points on 12-of-19 (.632) shooting, including 7-of-12 (.583) from beyond the arc and grabbed nine rebounds.
For the week, Bluthenthal shot 19-of-31 (.613) from the field, 10-of-17 (.588) from three-point range and was 4-of-4 (1.000) from the free throw line.
It is the third weekly award for Bluthenthal, the 23rd all-time honor for the Trojans.
