Bruins Remain in Eighth Place at Hawaii Tournament

The UCLA men's golf team remained in eighth place after the second round of the John A. Burns Invitational, hosted by the University of Hawaii at Leleihua Golf Course in Wahiawa, HI.

The Bruins posted a three-over par team score of 291 on Thursday for a combined 36-hole total of 586, 10-over par. They trail seventh-place California by one shot and sixth place Colorado State by three.

San Diego State leads the field at 569, seven-under par. Auburn is second at 576, followed by Nevada-Las Vegas at 579.

Individually, sophomore Steve Conway and freshman John Poucher lead the Bruins at one-over par 145. Poucher carded a one-under par round of 71 Wednesday and Conway came in at even par 72. Senior Parker McLachlin also posted a 72 and is tied for 27th at 146. Freshman Breene Murphy is tied for 56th at 151 after a 77 and sophomore John Merrick is tied for 70th at 153.

San Diego State's John Lieber leads the field at eight-under par 136, followed by Auburn's Kevin Haefner at six-under par 138.

Final round action continues Friday.
