CS Northridge Gets Even In Game Two At Worth Wildcat Invitational

TUCSON--Cal State Northridge evened its record in Arizona's Worth WildcatInvitational softball tournament at 1-1 with a 7-3 victory over DrakeFriday afternoon.

A two-run home run by Summer Richardson, her second in as many games,staked CSN to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first. In the third, AmberCopelan walked, moved to second on a single and scored on ChristenBedwell's single to make it 3-0.

Bedwell drove in another run with a single in the fifth and Richardson hita sac fly to make it 5-0.

The Bulldogs rallied in the sixth, with an RBI doubleby Jamie Waterman anda run-scoring single by Julie Moses to cut the lead to 5-2. But theMatadors answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning on an RBIsingle by Christy Menefee and alert base running when pinch runner KiaFennell tagged up and scored on an infield pop-up by Joey Metz.

Drake scored an unearned run in the top of the seventh when two CSN errorsallowed pinch runner Malay Bouaphakeo to score from first on two infieldground balls.
