Huskies Host NCAA Track and Field Qualifier This Saturday

On Sat., Mar. 2, the University of Washington will cap its home slate for the 2002 indoor track and field season with the UW Indoor Qualifier Track and Field Meet, one of just a handful of meets around the country designed to provide college athletes a final opportunity to post or improve qualifying marks for next weekend's NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships. Entry Fee: $15 per athlete per individual event entered, plus $25 per relay team.

Showers: Showers are available in the Bank of America Arena by request.

Parking: Parking is available in the E-12 and E-1 lots in the UW Athletic Complex.

Track: The Meet will be held at the brand new Dempsey Indoor athletic facility. The Dempsey Indoor track is 307 meters, Mondo surface. Pole Vault will use elevated runways, and the high jumpo will be on Mondo. No spikes larger than 1/4' will be allowed.

Results: Will be posted on-site approximately five minutes following the conclusion of the final event. Full packets of combined men's and women's results will be available for coaches only 10 minutes following the meet. A complete recap with results will be posted at approximately one hour following the meet. Results will also be faxed to each participating school's sports information office.

Practice: Friday -- The track is available from 3:00-5:30 p.m.

Packet Pick-Up: Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. or Saturday starting at 9:00 a.m., at Dempsey Indoor.

Weight Throw: Both men's and women's weight throw events will be conducted outdoors.
