Hartley Wins Pac-10 Title In 1-Meter Springboard

Freshman diver Blythe Hartley won the 1-meter title on the first day of the Pac-10 Conference Diving Championships at Arizona on Thursday (Feb. 28) in Tucson, Ariz.

Hartley won the event with room to spare with 325.50 points, well ahead of second-place Ashlee Rosenthal (286.80) of Stanford. Hartley's USC teammates Nicci Fusaro (282.65) and Kellie Brennan (262.70) finished third and fifth, respectively.

Hartley's win marked the fourth consecutive year a Trojan has won the 1-meter at the conference championships. Brennan won the event the previous three years.

The diving results count toward the overall Pac-10 swimming and diving team championship. The swimming portion is taking place at Belmont Plaza in Long Beach, Calif., Thursday through Saturday.

Sophomore Erin McKeon was 24th (168.75) and sophomore Katie Case was 26th (167.40).

Freshman men's diver Justin Curtin was 14th in the 3-meter (293.90).
