Natalie Nakase Selected To All-Pac-10 Honorable Mention Team

UCLA junior Natalie Nakase was selected to the All-Pac-10 honorable mention team for 2001-02.

Nakase, a 5-2 point guard from Huntington Beach, Calif. (Marina HS), has started all 27 games for the Bruins, averaging 8.0 points, 5.3 assists and 3.1 rebounds per game. She recorded back-to-back 20-point games in January, scoring 24 at Washington State and following that with a 21-point performance against USC. Against Arizona on Jan. 19, she recorded her first career double-double with 10 points and 11 assists.

Nakase ranks amongst the Pac-10 leaders in assists (third), assist/turnover ratio (fourth, 1.55), free throw percentage (ninth, .778) and steals (10th, 1.7 avg.). She has amassed 137 assists this season, eighth-most in school history.

This is Nakase's first conference honor.
