Cats Shutout E. Michigan, 9-0

TUCSON--Arizona used a big sixth inning to break open a tight game andromp past Eastern Michigan, 9-0, in its own Hillenbrand Invitationalsoftball tournament Saturday evening.

The Cats scored six times in the inning, batting around. Candace Abramshad a two-run single, Jennie Finch hit a sacrifice fly and pitcher JennyGladding socked a three-run homer.

UA jumped to a quick lead as the visiting team, with Leneah Manumaclouting a home run with two runners aboard in the top of the first.

Gladding scattered three hits and struck out nine. UA improved to 21-1.Eastern Michigan dropped to 3-9. Three of the Eagles' losses have beento Arizona -- once last week in the Worth Invitational tourney, onWednesday and in Hillenbrand Invitational action.
