Hawaii Finishes 3-2 at Hillenbrand Invitational

TUCSON, Ariz.--Hawaii banged out 14 hits and scored early to take a 7-2victory over Eastern Michigan in final day action of Arizona'sHillenbrand Invitational softball tournament.
The Rainbow Wahine finished 3-2 in the round-robin tournament. EasternMichigan was 1-4.
A two-run double by Stacey Porter gave Hawaii a 2-0 lead in the bottomof the first. Eastern Michigan cut the lead with an unearned run off asacrifice fly by Christie Koester in the top of the second, but thbeRainbow Wahine answered with a four-run second capped by a two-rundouble by Kate Judd to boost the lead to 6-1.
EMU (3-10) collected its first hit in the fourth when Tiffany Browndoubled, advchanced on a grounder, then scored on a single by shortstopGenny Hann.
Hawaii (12-8) pitcher Sheri Oroniz doubled in a run in the bottom ofthe fifth to make it it 7-1. EMU scored again in the sixth with asingle, fielder's choice, wild pitch and RBI base hit by Koester.
