Bruins Finish 14th at Cleveland Classic

The UCLA men's golf team finished 14th at the Cleveland Golf Classic at North Ranch Country Club.
The Bruins posted a team score Tuesday of 297 and compiled a 54-hole total of 902, 50-over par. The Bruins finished two shots behind Arkansas and five shots ahead of Oregon State.
USC, which hosted the tournament, won by three shots over Oregon and Washington. The Trojans posted a team score of 864, 12-over par. Fresno State finished fourth at 876.
Individually for the Bruins, sophomore John Merrick tied for 13th place at six-over par 219. Freshman Breene Murphy, behind a solid final round score of 68, tied for 33rd place at 225. Freshman John Poucher tied for 48th at 228, sophomore Roy Moon tied for 70th at 235 and senior Parker McLachlin tied for 75th at 238.
Washington's Brock Mackenzie won medalist honors with a five-under par score of 208. He posted a final round score of 69 to edge USC's Kevin Stadler by three shots. Fresno State's Nick Watney tied for second with Stadler at 211 after posting a final round 69.
