Pryce, Jones Selected for U.S. National Team Training

April 19, 2002

Los Angeles - UCLA women's soccer players Nandi Pryce and Whitney Jones have both been selected to participate in a training camp with the Under-21 U.S. National Team, April 21-27 in Chula Vista, Calif.

Pryce, a sophomore defender out of Casselberry, Fla., just completed her first full season with the Bruins after missing the majority of her freshman year at UCLA due to injury. Prior to her injury she was a regular on many youth national teams and was an alternate on the 2000 U.S. Olympic Team. She made her debut with the Full U.S. squad in January of that same year.

Jones, a sophomore midfielder out of San Clemente, Calif., started all 23 matches for the Bruins in 2001, helping UCLA reach the NCAA Quarterfinals. In addition to soccer, she recently completed her second season as a member of the UCLA women's basketball team. This will be her second stint with the U21s after attending a previous camp in Chula Vista in March.
