STANFORD remains ranked the No. 1 team in the nation in the Baseball America poll, while Collegiate Baseball and Baseball Weekly, rank the Cardinal No. 3 ... Currently on a seven-game winning streak, ARIZONA STATE is ranked No. 11 and No. 15 in the Baseball Weekly and Collegiate Baseball polls respectively. The Sun Devils moved up four spots in the Baseball America poll, from No. 21 to No. 17 ... More non-conference opponents are up for Pac-10 teams this week, with OREGON STATE and WASHINGTON STATE meeting up for a 'non-conference' series.

ARIZONA (17-7)Last Week: at Long Beach State L 0-4, 6-7, 0-6 This Week: UNC WilmingtonArizona was riding a six-game winning streak before dropping three straight to Long Beach State in its second road trip of the season ... The Wildcats are 1-6 away from Sancet Field this year ... 'Cats head coach Andy Lopez got his 700th career win Feb. 23 with Arizona's 7-6 extra-inning victory over UC Irvine. Lopez is now 704-425-6 overall ... Arizona batters are having a painful time at the plate. In 24 games, 35 Wildcat batters have been hit by a pitch. That number equals Arizona's total number of hit batsmen in all of last season's 56 games ... SR C Chris Cunningham is getting it done at the plate, leading the 'Cats with 25 runs, five homers and 26 RBI ... FR DH Richard Mercado leads the Wildcats in batting average (.338) and hits (25), while fellow freshman RF Jeff Van Houten is batting a second-best .311 and is tied for the team lead with seven doubles. He leads the team with a .595 slugging percentage ... In seven appearances, SO RHP Sean Rierson has notched four wins and has 33 K's in 47.2 innings pitched ... Sophomore lefty Joe Little also has four wins and has 36 strikeouts in 41.0 innings pitched.

ARIZONA STATE (15-5)Last Week: New Mexico St., W 10-5, UNLV W 10-0, St. John's W 11-1, Oklahoma St. W 7-2 This Week: at New Mexico St., OklahomaThe Sun Devils are riding a seven-game winning streak after winning each of their games at the Bob Scheaffer Memorial Tournament ... The Sun Devils are getting great performances on the mound, as the team is sporting a 2.88 ERA ... JR RHP Robbie McClellan earned his first Pac-10 Pitcher of the Week honor after posting the first back-to-back compete games for ASU since 1999. In his win against UNLV he allowed four hits and no runs, while striking out a career-high 10 batters ... Last week SO RHP J.J. Jackson earned wins over New Mexico State and Oklahoma State. He allowed only one hit and no runs with seven strikeouts in six innings of work ... ASU skipper Pat Murphy notched his 600th career Division I victory in the Sun Devils' 10-0 win over UNLV, Mar. 8 ... SO OF Rod Allen is on a seven game hitting streak ... SO OF Andre Ethier is batting .403 to lead the Sun Devils. He also leads ASU with 31 hits, eight doubles and is tied for the team-lead with two triples ... SO 1B Jeremy West leads the team with five home runs, 25 RBI and a .727 slugging percentage.

CALIFORNIA (13-9)Last Week: Georgetown W 6-5 (10), Stanford L 4-15, W 2-1, L 2-4 This Week: USF, at UC IrvineCal went 2-2 last week defeating Georgetown in a midweek game and picking up a win against No. 1 Stanford in a non-conference three-game home series ... Against Georgetown, SO 1B Conor Jackson hit a game-winning grand slam to beat the Hoyas. It marked the second grand slam for him this season. Jackson is leading the Bears in several offensive statistical categories including batting average (.386), runs (22), hits (34), home runs (7), RBI (26) and slugging percentage (.716). He is tied for first on the team with two triples ... The Bears have won three games this season in the bottom of the ninth or 10th inning ... On the hill, Cal is led by SR RHP Trevor Hutchinson. Hutchinson is 4-2, sporting a 3.03 ERA and has a team-high 46 K's in 47.1 innings pitched. He now has 236 career strikeouts and is just 40 K's away from being Cal's all-time strikeout leader ... Right-hander Matt Brown picked up his third save of the season in Cal's 2-1 win over Stanford. The save was the 11th of his career, placing the sophomore tied for sixth on the Cal all-time saves list.

OREGON STATE (10-7)Last Week: at Nevada W 7-5, 11-8 This Week: Portland, Washington StateOSU took two games at Nevada last week to finish off six weeks of road games. The Beavers now begin an 11-game home stand. OSU hasn't played 11 straight home games since the Beavers had 12 in a row at home early in the 1958 season ... Through 17 games, OSU already has 11 triples. The Beavers had 15 three-base hits all of last season. The OSU single-season triples record is 20 ... OSU is batting .309 as a team, but that improves to .343 with runners of base and .348 with runners in scoring position ... JR 3B Brian Barden is hitting .351 and leads the team with 26 hits, three home runs and 17 RBI ... JR OF Tom Creighton leads the Beavers with nine multi-hit games ... OSU's longest hit streak of the season has been JR right fielder Chris Biles' 16-gamer that included the last five games of the 2001 season ... SO RHP Jared Sanders recorded saves in both wins at Nevada. He leads the OSU pitching staff with a 1.93 ERA and has four saves in nine appearances. He is tied for fourth place on OSU's all-time single-season saves list.

STANFORD (14-5)Last Week: at California W 15-4, L 1-2, W 4-2 This Week: no gamesThe Cardinal has posted eight wins in their past 10 games ... Coming off a 2-1 non-conference series against California, Stanford will be out of action for 12 days before traveling to Los Angeles for another non-conference series, this time against USC ... The Cardinal has had four games this season where they've scored 15 or more runs. The team has scored five or more runs in an inning 12 times this year ... JR LHP Tim Cunningham had his 10-game win streak snapped in the Cardinal's loss to Cal. It was his first loss since May 28, 2000 ... Despite Cunningham's loss, Stanford is 12-1 when he or JR RHP Jeremy Guthrie are on the hill, and 2-4 when they are not ... Guthrie is 5-0 and leads the team with 42 strikeouts in 41.0 inning pitched ... JR DH Jason Cooper has been hot at the plate, leading the team with a .455 batting average, 30 hits, 23 RBI and a .712 slugging percentage. He is currently on a career-high 11 game hitting streak in which he is hitting .500 (21-for-42) with four doubles, four home runs, 16 RBI and 11 runs scored.

UCLA (12-12)Last Week: Loyola Marymount W 10-9, at CS Northridge L 9-10, 11-12, W 6-3 This Week: Pepperdine, UC IrvineThe Bruins are an even 12-12 on the season and are coming off a 2-2 week against local schools, Loyola Marymount and Cal State Northridge ... As a team the Bruins are batting .312, with 10 players hitting over the .300 mark ... JR RF Ben Francisco has been leading the team at the plate. Francisco is hitting .391 with 31 runs, 24 hits and 26 RBI. Last week in the four games UCLA played, he hit three home runs. He also leads the team in stolen bases with 13 ... The Bruins have several players that are pulling double duty on the field. Sophomore Casey Janssen is the regular starting first baseman and is the Bruins' Sunday starter. Freshman Wes Whisler has moved into a weekend starting spot and plays first base or is slotted as the DH when Janssen is pitching. Freshman Billy Susdorf, a reserve outfielder and DH, has moved into a closer role. He has two saves in three appearances and has allowed just one run in 3.1 innings pitched.

USC (8-9)Last Week: at UC Irvine L 3-5, vs. TCU W 8-3, vs. Notre Dame L 8-15, vs. Creighton W 7-3 This Week: at San Diego, at PepperdineThe Trojans have three more games on the road this week and two more next week to close out a run of 22 straight road games. USC's Dedeaux Field is undergoing a $4 million renovation project ... USC takes on No. 20 San Diego for a midweek game and then plays a two-game set in Malibu. Pepperdine represents the ninth different opponent that the Trojans have faced in 10 games ... This weekend's games could mark the return of junior Anthony Reyes. Reyes, USC's projected No. 1 starter, has been sidelined this season with a sore right elbow ... FR RHP Brett Bannister has been a pleasant surprise for the Trojans on the hill. In six appearances he is 1-1 with a team-low 2.39 ERA and has 22 K's in 26.1 innings pitched ... JR C Alberto Concepcion and SR CF Brian Barre are both batting .348. Barre leads the team with 14 runs, 24 hits, four home runs and 16 RBI. Concepcion is right behind him with 13 runs and 23 hits, and he leads the team with seven doubles.

WASHINGTON (8-7)Last Week: UC Riverside W 6-1, L 4-7, 4-6 This Week: Brigham YoungThe Huskies went 1-2 against UC Riverside last weekend ... SR RHP Shawn Kohn had a great outing on the hill against the Highlanders, notching a complete game for the win and allowing one run on six hits with one walk and six strikeouts. On the season, Kohn has a team-low 0.90 ERA and a perfect 4-0 record. Opponents are batting just .168 against him ... JR SS Tila Reynolds and JR RF Tyler Davidson are doing well offensively for the Huskies. Reynolds leads the team with a .397 batting average, 25 hits, two triples and eight steals. He recently had a 13-game hitting streak broken and has hit in 14 of 15 games this year. Davidson is batting .351 and leads the Huskies with 20 runs scored and four home runs ... Washington has hit 23 homers in 15 games, giving the Huskies a pace for 86 round-trippers this season. Last year the team hit just 46.

WASHINGTON STATE (10-7)Last Week: at Sacramento State L 2-9, W 8-4, L 10-11 (10) This Week: at Oregon StateThe Cougars are 7-3 over their past 10 games ... Washington State will travel to Corvallis for a non-conference match-up with Oregon State this weekend ... WSU was on a four game winning streak before falling to Sacramento State in the first game of a double-header March 9 ... The Cougars are being led offensively by SR 2B Bookie Gates. Gates leads the team with a .389 batting average, 28 hits, three triples, 21 RBI and five stolen bases ... Freshman SS Derek Bruce has also been productive at the plate, leading the Cougars with 20 runs scored, six home runs and a .730 slugging percentage ... JR RHP Brandon Hundt remains perfect through eight appearances with a 4-0 record. He is sporting a 2.67 ERA with 36 strikeouts in 30.1 innings pitched.
