Spring Schedule Kicks Off March 16 In Richland

PULLMAN, Wash. --- The Washington State soccer team will begin its spring training March 16 with a pair of contests against the University of Washington in Richland, kicking off four weekends of competition.

After the opener against the Huskies, the Cougars travel to Beaverton, Ore., for the Nike World Tournament and matches with Northwest rivals Oregon and Oregon State April 6 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., respectively.

The following Saturday, WSU will host the Mom's Weekend Roundup. The Cougars begin the four-team affair with a match against Montana at 10 a.m. Gonzaga plays Idaho at noon and Montana at 2:30 p.m., before the competition finale, a border war matchup between WSU and Idaho at 4:30 p.m.

WSU also hosts the final event on the spring docket, the Fourth Annual 7-A-Side Classic. Head coach Dan Tobias expects to field 32 teams for the April 27 and 28 tournament.
