Arizona Softball Completes Third Day of the KIA Klassic

Fullerton, Calif.- The No. 2 Arizona softball team fell to No. 8 Arizona State, 3-0, in the third day of the KIA Klassic. The loss to the Sun Devils eliminates the Cats from the Championship bracket.

All three of ASU's runs came in the third inning. This marks the second loss in a row for Jenny Gladding (12-4). The Cats fell to Cal-State Northridge last night by a score of 3-4.

The game against Arizona State was the second game of the day for Arizona. Earlier in the day against Louisiana-Lafayette, pitcher Jennie Finch (16-0) struck out 12 batters and only allowed one hit to lead the Cats to a 1-0 victory. Finch improved her streak to 56 consecutive victories. The solo run came from Lovie Jung who hit a home run, her third of the tournament.

Arizona improve their record to 28-4.

The Cats will be at home on Wednesday, March 20 when they take on Simon Fraser University in an exhibition game at 7 p.m.
