Women's Crew Opens The 2002 Season Against Santa Clara

Redwood Shores, Calif. - Stanford Women's Crew opens the 2002 racing season this weekend with a dual against Santa Clara University at Redwood Shores. Coming in the wake of final exams, this race will provide an excellent opportunity for the team to get its first racing strokes in before heading off to regattas in Sacramento and San Diego in the weeks to come. Most importantly this race will provide the novice team with its first opportunity to race two thousand meters along side an opposing crew. While the weather may prove to be a bit gloomy, Stanford is excited for the thrill of racing to begin.
The Cardinal Women will begin Sunday's races with the Varsity Eight Event at 9:00AM. Stanford's junior varsity and third varsity eight will race Santa Clara's varsity crew in this event. At 9:30AM the novice women will race, followed by a Varsity Four event at 10:00AM.
Racing in Stanford's Novice Women's Eight will be: Erica Maland (cox), Katy Jackman (8), Marlo Driessigacker (7), Anya Byers (6), Taiwo Ajayi (5), Kenny Ajayi (4), Erin Atkinson (3), Sami Lubega (2), Sarah Field (1).
Racing in Stanford's Third Varsity Eight will be: Abby Levine (cox), Louisa Marion (8), Stacie Solt (7), Alicia Gutierrez (6), Alison Appling (5), Grace Bull Tail (4), Lyndsey Toeppen (3), Wei-li Chang (2), Sarah Field (1).
Racing in Stanford's Junior Varsity Eight will be: Kelly Garneski (cox), Ashley Maloney (8), Susan BeVille (7), Megan Burritt (6), Jenny McColloch (5), Nicole Hildebrandt (4), Erin Krampetz (3), Lily Liu (2), Anjali Malhotra (1).
Racing in Stanford's Varsity Fours will be: Wendy Hoeveler (cox), Sabrina Kolker (4), Melissa Huary (3), Missy Fiesler (2), Samantha Magee (1). Kelly Garneski (cox), Laurie Benson (4), Molly Loeb (3), Marlayna Tuiasosopo (2), Claire Phillips (1).

Right on Twin Dolphin
Left on Lagoon (First Stop Light)
Right at stop sign to Paragon Point
