Women's Gymnastics To Be One Of Four Ranked Teams In South Central Regional

TEMPE, Ariz. - Ranked 18th in the nation, Arizona State's women's gymnastics team will be one of four top-18 teams competing for a bid to the NCAA Championships when the Sun Devils host the NCAA South Central Regional, April 6, at 6:00 p.m. in Wells Fargo Arena.

Other teams in attendance will be No. 1 UCLA, No. 12 Arizona, No. 17 Brigham Young and unranked Illinois-Chicago and Cal State Fullerton. The Sun Devils have met all but BYU and Illinois-Chicago this season. The top-two team finishers at each of the six regionals advance to the NCAA Championships.

Competing as all-arounders at the South Central Regional will be Jana Gallagher and Ashley Williams of Illinois-Champaign, Kristina Campos of Northern Illinois, Ashley Godwin of Southeast Missouri State and Luci Romberg of Texas Woman's University.

The top-two all-around finishers at each regional on teams not already advancing to nationals receive bids to the NCAA Championships.

Three event specialists come from TWU. Jessica Brozovich will compete on vault, Erin McNabb will compete on uneven bars and Michelle Hepner will compete on balance beam. Michelle Walker of Southeast Missouri State will compete floor exercise. Individual event winners on teams not qualifying to nationals also received bids to the NCAA Championships.
