Softball Tops UNLV 1-0 In Game 1 Of Doubleheader

Oregon sophomore Anissa Meashintubby pitched her third shut out of the season and improved to 7-2 on the year after Oregon topped UNLV 1-0 in the opening game of a doubleheader Tuesday afternoon. Oregon improves to 17-9 on the season and UNLV drops to 18-20.

Meashintubby pitched all seven innings and gave up five hits and struck out seven. Meashintubby now has a team high 55 strike outs this season.

Offensively, third baseman Lynsey Haij led the Ducks, finishing 2-for-3 to bring her season average to .300. Amber Hutchison had Oregon's only other hit and scored the Ducks' lone run on a sacrifice fly by Janell Bergstrom in the fifth inning.
