Other Pac-10 weekend match-ups include WASHINGTON at No. 15 ARIZONA STATE and ARIZONA at OREGON STATE ... No. 1 STANFORD is still in non-conference schedule mode as it takes on No. 11 Texas at Sunken Diamond this weekend ... The Cougars also play a non-conference set, hosting Pace University.

ARIZONA (20-10)
Last Week: Arizona State L 7-9, 6-10, W 10-1 This Week: *at Oregon StateThe Wildcats had a bit of trouble in their first Pac-10 series, dropping the first two games against in-state rival Arizona State. Arizona stranded 18 runners on base in the first two games of the series ... The 'Cats avoided the sweep with a 10-1 victory Sunday. Six of the 10 runs in the game came with two outs, bringing Arizona's season two-out total to 113 ... SO RHP Marc Kaiser earned the win, tossing his second straight complete game. He allowed just one run on four hits while striking out three Sun Devil batters. He now is 5-1 on the season with the second-lowest ERA on the team at 2.22. His ERA also ranks second among leaders in the Conference ... Arizona is batting .288 as a team, with FR 1B Richard Mercado leading the 'Cats at the plate with a .340 average. He also leads the squad with 33 hits ... FR RF Jeff Van Houten is pacing Arizona in the power categories: 6 home runs, 25 RBI, .606 slugging percentage ... Last season against Oregon State, the Wildcats won the series 2-1 in Tucson.

Last Week: at Arizona W 9-7, 10-6, L 1-10 This Week: *WashingtonArizona State won its first Pac-10 series of the season, with a 2-1 weekend at Arizona ... Despite winning the series, ASU was outscored 23-20 and outhit 29-26 in the three games, including a season-low total of four hits in the final game of the series ... The Sun Devils' team batting average is at .298, marking the first time it has dipped below .300 since April 5, 1998 ... ASU has played with four catchers this year, with three seeing time in ASU's 9-7 opening win in Tucson. Freshman Joel Bocchi and Tuffy Gosewisch, JR Dennis Wyrick and SR Cesar Castillo each have seen time behind the plate ... ASU kept their consecutive games scoring streak intact with SO LF Rod Allen's solo homer in the sixth inning of Sunday's game. During the 402-game streak, the Sun Devils have scored just one run 12 times ... ASU plays a three-game series against Washington at home, before visiting Washington State and UCLA for two consecutive weekends of Pac-10 play on the road ... Last season, the Sun Devils swept the Huskies in Seattle. ASU owns a 9-3 all-time record against Washington.

Last Week: Saint Mary's W 5-3, at WSU W 5-1, 5-4, 6-5 (10) This Week: *at USCThe Golden Bears picked up a sweep in their first Pac-10 series of the season at Washington State ... Cal pulled out a 10th inning win in its final game against the Cougars, due to the late-inning heroics of SR 2B Carson White. White hit a two-out game-winning homer in the top of the 10th inning and then threw out the potential tying run in the bottom of the 10th, to lead Cal to its 6-5 victory. Last week White hit .592 (9-for-17) with a double, home run and 3 RBI. He is currently riding a 14-game hitting streak and his 46 hits this season ranks second in the Pac-10 ... SO 1B Conor Jackson also did well last week hitting .400 (6-for-15) with two doubles, two home runs and two stolen bases. He leads the Conference in several statistical categories, including hits (47), RBI (37), and total bases (85) ... SO RHP Matt Brown picked up a win and a save in the games at WSU. He is 3-1 on the season and second in the Pac-10 with five saves.

Last Week: CS Northridge L 3-4, 4-10, W14-3 (8), Portland W 5-2 This Week: *ArizonaOregon State went 2-2 last week, picking up wins against Cal State Northridge and Portland. The Beavers have won 11 of their last 14 games going into the start of Pac-10 play this weekend ... SR OF Pat Stevens tripled home the tying run and scored the go-ahead run in OSU's 5-2 win over the Pilots. He went 2-for-3 in that game and hit a double in OSU's 14-3 win over the Matadors. Prior to this weekend, he had only two at-bats this year. Stevens is returning from arthroscopic knee surgery he had just before the start of the season ... Notching his sixth save of the season against the Pilots, SO RHP Jared Sanders took sole possession of second place on OSU's all-time list of season leaders. He leads the Beavers with a 1.84 ERA and paces the Pac-10 in saves. Opposing batters are hitting just .245 against him ... OSU hosts its first Pac-10 series this weekend, taking on Arizona. Last season in Tucson, the Beavers went 1-2 against the Wildcats.

Last Week: USC W 9-6, 12-10 (11), 5-4 This Week: TexasStanford is coming off its first sweep at USC since 1997. The Cardinal now has nine victories in their last 10 games ... With his fifth home run of the season, and fourth in the last six games, JR LF Jason Cooper extended his career-high hitting streak to 14 games. Cooper leads the Cardinal in several offensive categories including batting average (.449), hits (35), RBI (27) and slugging percentage (.718) ... Stanford is hitting .337 as a ballclub. At this point last year, the squad was hitting at a .293 clip ... JR RHP Jeremy Guthrie notched his 11th consecutive victory in the Cardinal's 12-10 11th inning win against the Trojans. Guthrie allowed three earned runs on eight hits with six strikeouts in 6.0 innings pitched. Stanford also got a strong pitching performance from John Hudgins, who picked up his fourth win on Sunday. He allowed four runs on five hits in 6.2 innings pitched ... Next up for Stanford is Texas. The Longhorns are currently ranked as high as No. 11 (Baseball Weekly poll). Last season the Cardinal defeated Texas twice at its NCAA Regional to advance to the Super Regionals.

UCLA (13-16)
Last Week: at Miami L 7-8, 2-8, 1-5 This Week: no gamesUCLA was swept at Miami last week, marking the third time the Bruins have been swept this season. Their other 3-game losses were at the hands of Hawaii and USC ... RHP Casey Janssen was a bright spot in UCLA's final game against the Hurricanes. In seven innings pitched, he struck out a career high 12 batters and allowed just one earned run on seven hits and did not give up a walk. The sophomore is 4-1 on the year with a Pac-10 leading 1.80 ERA and 40 strikeouts in 35.0 innings pitched ... FR INF Chris Jensen saw his first time as an outfielder ever as SR Adam Berry was out for two games with a shoulder injury. Jensen made the most of his playing time hitting .357 (5-for-14) with his first career home run ... The Bruins will play no games this Easter weekend, but return to action April 2 at Long Beach State.

USC (12-13)
Last Week: Stanford L 6-9, 10-12 (11), 4-5 This Week: CaliforniaUSC struggled last week, losing a three-game series to Stanford in its first home games of the season. The Trojans hadn't lost a home series to the Cardinal since 1997 ... USC is on a four-game losing skid after suffering the worst loss in program history, a 31-7 defeat at Loyola Marymount. The loss snapped the five-game winning streak the Trojans had put together ... The hits just keep on coming for USC in the injury department. The latest victim is FR DH Joey Metropoulous. Metropoulous, sprained his right ankle in the Trojans' second game against the Cardinal. He is expected to miss 1-2 weeks ... Cory Campos did well in his seventh outing of the season. The junior left-hander allowed no earned runs on three hits with six strikeouts in 4.0 innings pitched in relief. He has a 2.92 ERA on the season with 15 K's in 12.1 innings pitched ... USC continues on its 10-game home stand, hosting California this weekend. Last year the Trojans took two of three games from the Golden Bears in Berkeley.

Last Week: at Washington State W 7-3 This Week: at WSU, at Arizona StateWashington was off last week for its winter quarter final exams, but the team plays a two-game non-conference series against Washington State before taking on the Sun Devils in its first Pac-10 series in Tempe this weekend ... The Huskies took the first game from WSU as SR Shawn Kohn picked up his sixth victory. The right-hander improved to 6-0 on the season, allowing just two runs on two hits. He retired the last 10 batters he faced. Kohn leads the Conference in wins, batters struck out looking (18) and opposing batting average (.179) ... JR SS Tila Reynolds paced Washington offensively against WSU going 3-for-5 with two doubles an RBI and one run scored ... As a team, the Huskies are third in the Pac-10 in offense, hitting at a .303 clip. The team also ranks second in slugging percentage (.513) and third in home runs (28) and stolen bases (39).

Last Week: California L 1-5, 4-5, 5-9 (10), Washington L 3-7 This Week: Washington, PaceWashington State was swept by California last weekend to put its losing streak at a season-high seven games. The Cougars also dropped their first game of a midweek non-conference series against Washington ... WSU will look to get back on track when they host Pace University later this week ... The Cougars are being led offensively by SR 2B Bookie Gates. Gates is batting .393 with a .584 slugging percentage. He is tied for first in the Pac-10 with three triples, tied for sixth in stolen bases with seven and tied for seventh in hits with 35.
