March 26, 2002

The Washington State women's tennis team hosts two Pac-10 opponents this week. The Cougars, ranked 46th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's rankings, play No. 5 Stanford Thursday and then compete against No. 28 California Friday. Washington State, 7-5 this season, is coming off a three-match sweep last week in Hawaii.

'I'm glad to get the three wins here in Hawaii, and now it's time to return home for the tough Pac-10 matches this week against Cal and Stanford,' said WSU coach Cari Groce.

Both matches will be at noon at the Stadium Way Tennis Center in Pullman.

The Cougars are anchored by Erica Perkins, a senior ranked 50th, and Stacy McKenna, a sophomore ranked 72nd nationally. Combined they form the No. 14 doubles team.

The Cougars next competition will be Tuesday April 2 against Gonzaga. Match time is 2:30 p.m. at the Stadium Way Tennis Center in Pullman.
