Lindsey Yamasaki Competes In ESPN 3-Point Championship

ATLANTA, Ga. - Stanford University senior Lindsey Yamasaki (Oregon City, OR/Oregon City HS) participated in ESPN's 14th Annual 3-Point Championship on Thursday night at Georgia State University.
Yamasaki, who finished second in Stanford history and tied for fourth in Pac-10 history with 192 career 3-pointers, made six treys in first round competition and did not advance to the semifinals.
Oregon State's Felicia Ragland won the 3-point competition. The other competitors were Kelly Komara of Purdue, Brandi McCain of Florida, Jenny Roulier of Colorado, Nikki Teasely of North Carolina, Tract Gahan of Iowa State and Lindsey Meder of Iowa.
The 6-foot-1 forward will now travel to San Antonio, Texas to participate in the WBCA (Women's Basketball Coaches Association) All-Star Challenge on Saturday at the University of Texas at San Antionio at 4:00 p.m. (CT).
The game will match the 2002 USA Basketball National Team, which features Chamique Holdsclaw, Lisa Leslie and Sheryl Swoopes, against Yamasaki and 19 of the other top senior collegiate players in the country.
Yamasaki averaged 17.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists for the 32-3 Cardinal, which advanced to the NCAA West Regional Semifinals this season.
