No. 63 Arizona Men's Tennis Swept by No. 2 UCLA, 0-7

Tucson, Ariz. - The University of Arizona men's tennis fell to the second-ranked UCLA Bruins, 0-7, on Friday. The Wildcats were swept in the singles and doubles competition. The Cats are now 7-7 on the season.

On the singles side, playing in the first position, senior Steven Capriati, ranked No. 41 in the nation, lost to No. 23 Marcin Matkowski in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4. No. 118 Sophomore Whi Kim in the second spot fell to Jean-Julien Rojer in straight sets, 6-3, 7-6. Junior Tom Lloyd, playing in the third slot, lost to No. 35 Rodrigo Grilli, 7-5, 6-2. Sophomore Carl Hagman, playing in the fourth position, was defeated by Erfan Djahangiri, 6-2, 6-2. Competing in the fifth spot, senior Bruno Arapovic struggled against Lassi Ketola, losing, 6-1, 6-2. Sophomore Roeland Brateanu fell to Derrick Nguyen, 6-2, 6-3, in the sixth position.

Arizona won one doubles match, therefore UCLA won the doubles point. The team of Capriati and Hagman fell to second-ranked Rojer and Matkowski, 8-5. In the second position, Kim and Brateanu lost to Ketola and Grilli, 8-5. Freshman Colin O'Grady and Lloyd, competing in the third spot, topped UCLA's team of Djahangiri and Tobias Clemens, 8-4.

The Wildcats are back in action on Saturday, March 30, at 12:00 p.m., when they face the No. 18 Southern California Trojans.
