UCLA Women's Track and Field Third After Day One of Cal-Nevada Championships

At the conclusion of the first day of competition, the Bruins are in third place with 11 points. Nevada is in first place with 18 points, and Fresno State is second with 13 points. Bruins competed in the final of the 3000m on Friday. Carolyn Shea was fourth in 10:08.67 and Lori Mann placed fifth in 10:14.90.

On Saturday, Bruins will compete in the following finals: hammer throw (Jessica Cosby, Lara Saye, Cari Soong), shot put (Jessica Cosby, Briona Reynolds), 5000m (Carmen Winant, Kelly Grimes), 800m (Alejandra Barrientos), javelin (Suzanne Linn) and 1500m (Julia Barbour).
