Courtney Scott Selected to USA Softball Selection Camp

BERKELEY - Junior catcher Courtney Scott has been selected by USA Softball to participate in its summer team camp to be held May 30-June 3 at the ARCO Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif.

Scott, along with 19 other players, joins the 22 athletes selected in January to compete for spots on teams that will represent the U.S. in international competition this summer. An additional 10-18 players will be added to the camp during the first week of May.

The Clovis native leads the eighth-ranked Bears in batting with a .367 average. She's also tied for the team lead in RBI with 32, tied for second in total bases (61) and third in hits with 47. Defensively, Scott has thrown out 10 would-be base stealers in 18 attempts and has just one error in 46 games.
