No. 2 Bruins Host for No. 5 Stanford, No. 20 Cal This Weekend

This Week . . .
Coming off two impressive performances against the Arizona schools last week, the No. 2-ranked UCLA men's tennis team will play its final two home matches of the regular season this week when it hosts No. 20 Cal this Friday and No. 5 Stanford on Saturday. On Friday, the Bruins will host Cal beginning at 1:30 p.m. The Bears head into Friday's match with a 13-3 overall record (2-0 Pac-10), having won nine in a row. UCLA leads the all-time series 68-6. On Saturday, the Bruins will host Stanford at Noon. The Cardinal are 15-1 and 2-0 in the Pac-10. Stanford owns a 45-43 edge in the series. Both of this week's matches will not count in the Pac-10 standings.
Martin Goes for No. 200 . . .
When the Bruins take the court against Cal this Friday, head coach Billy Martin will be aiming for the 200th victory of his career. Martin currently owns a career record of 199-36 and is in his ninth season as head coach. He entered this year with a record of 183-35, giving him an average of 23 victories a year.
Bruins Fall to No. 2 . . .
Despite not playing a match, UCLA fell out of the top spot to No. 2 in the country in the latest Omni Hotels Collegiate Tennis Rankings released last week. Georgia was elevated to No. 1 following a win over then-No. 2 Illinois. UCLA has been ranked in the top-5 all season.

Bruins' Win Streak Reaches 10. . .
Since UCLA's loss to USC back on Feb. 7, the Bruins have won 10 in a row, starting with Duke back on Feb. 8. During the streak, the Bruins have registered three wins over top-10 opponents, including No. 9 Duke, 4-1 (2/8), No. 9 Pepperdine, 5-2 (2/27) and No. 3 USC, 4-3 (3/7).
