Oregon State Defeats Baseball, 13-3, To Even Pac-10 Series

LOS ANGELES - The Oregon State Beavers registered five-run innings twice Saturday in a 13-3 win against the USC Trojans in Pac-10 Conference action at Dedeaux Field. The Beavers snapped the Trojans' five-game winning streak.
Oregon State improves to 19-11 overall (3-2 in the Pac-10) while USC falls to 17-14 overall (4-1 Pac-10).
The Beavers broke a 1-1 tie in the third with their first five-run inning. OSU knocked out USC starter Matt Chico (4-3) by putting its first five runners on base. Shortstop Will Hudson hit a two-run double to right and designated hitter Kerisi Reynolds added another RBI double to cap the rally.
Stephen Copeland (3-1) picked up the victory for the Beavers, allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits in 5 1/3 innings of work. Ty Kline threw 3 2/3 scoreless innings in relief to notch his first save of the season.
Third baseman Brian Barden went 4-for-5 for Oregon State, including a walk and a double.
USC shortstop Michael Moon hit his first home run of the season with a two-run shot in the third.
