Jamie Dantzscher Selected UCLABruins.com Student-Athlete of the Week

Sophomore Jamie Dantzscher (San Dimas, CA/San Dimas HS) of the UCLA Gymnastics Team was selected as the UCLABruins.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Apr. 1-7.

Dantzscher led UCLA to a first-place showing at the NCAA South Central Regional on Apr. 6, giving the Bruins their 11th consecutive berth in the NCAA Championships, which will be held in Tuscaloosa, AL on Apr. 18-20. UCLA scored a 197.425 to defeat second-place Arizona by nearly two and a half points. Dantzscher won the all-around (39.7), vault (tied with Jeanette Antolin with a 9.9), bars (9.95) and floor (9.95) and placed third on beam with a career-high tying 9.9. In addition, Dantzscher was named the West Region's Gymnast of the Year.

This is Dantzscher's fourth UCLABruins.com Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season, the most by any Bruin athlete this season, and the fifth of her career.
