April 8, 2002

BERKELEY - Senior All-American pitcher Jocelyn Forest has been named as a finalist for the inaugural USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Award, it was announced Friday by the Amateur Softball Association. Ten finalists will be named May 3, and trimmed down to three finalists May 31. The winner will be announced June 7.

Forest, who is approaching the 20-win plateau for the fourth consecutive year at Cal, is attempting to be the only pitcher to do so with the exception of 1996 Olympian Michele Granger.
