Three Former Football Players on NFL Europe Rosters

Corvallis, Ore. - Three former Oregon State University football players appear on the NFL's Europe League rosters as of April 8. The trio includes Keith Heyward-Johnson, Armon Hatcher, and Jonathan Jackson. The 10-week regular season begins April 13, and culminates with the World Bowl in Dusseldorf, Germany June 22.
Heyward-Johnson is a cornerback for the Scottish Claymores. He concluded his OSU career in 2000 as a four-year letterman, and helped the Beavers earn berths to the Tostitos Fiesta and Jeep O'ahu Bowls. He earned honorable mention All-Pacific-10 Conference acclaim as a senior. Heyward-Johnson played for the British Columbia Lions of the Canadian Football League last season.
Hatcher is a safety for the Frankfurt Galaxy. He lettered at Oregon State from 1995-98, and ranks tied for second at the school for career interceptions with 13. Hatcher also registered one of Oregon State's best defensive games in history in a 1998 contest vs. California when he had 15 tackles, two interceptions, two pass breakups, and one forced fumble. He left the school with 222 career tackles. He was a sixth round selection of the NFL's Buffalo Bills in 1999, and has played for the San Diego Chargers, and for the NFL Europe franchises in Barcelona and Amsterdam.
Jackson is a member of the defending World Bowl champion Berlin Thunder. Jackson lettered from 1996-99 at linebacker, and helped the Beavers earn a berth to the Jeep O'ahu Bowl. He left OSU as one of the school's all-time leaders for tackles with 282. Jackson was an honorable mention All-Pacific-10 Conference selection at the conclusion of his senior year and signed a free agent contract with the Kansas City Chiefs. He later played for the Las Vegas Outlaws of the defunct XFL.
