April 8, 2002

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Janelle Joy tallied a hat-trick as Oregon State's women's soccer squad topped Washington State, 3-0, in the Beavers' first of five spring exhibition games.

'It was a very good all-around performance,' said OSU head coach Steve Fennah. 'Offensively we passed and moved the ball very well.'

Lindsey Beem's diagonal ball set Joy up for her first goal, while Morgan Crabtree and Katie Henderson each picked up an assist on the second goal as Crabtree sent a pass to Henderson who crossed it to Joy.

Joy completed the hat-trick when she took a pass from Jillian Nicks and beat the WSU keeper.
