Women's Golf Finishes Eighth At Ping/ASU Invitational

Tempe, Ariz. - Juniors Mikaela Parmlid and Becky Lucidi each shot 220 to lead the No. 14 USC women's golf team to an eighth place finish at the Ping/ASU Invitational held at Karsten Golf Course on April 5-7.

The Women of Troy shot 897 overall, 26 strokes behind tourney champ Tulsa (871). Arizona State was second (877), followed by Arizona (881), UCLA (883) and California (890).

Parmlid and Lucidi tied for 10th along with Laura Myerscough of Arizona, 13 strokes behind individual winner Lorena Ochoa of Arizona (207), who won her seventh consecutive tourney championship. Jimin Kang of Arizona State was second (211), followed by Stacy Prammanasudh of Tulsa (212), Vikki Laing of California (214) and Kim Rowton of Stanford (216).

Also for USC, sophomore Anna Rawson tied for 31st (225), junior Yon Yim tied for 60th (232) and senior Leila Chartand finished 82nd (247) in her first tournament action this season after recovering from a back injury.

The Women of Troy are next in action at the Peg Barnard California Collegiate in Palo Alto, Calif. on April 13-14.
