Brianna Glenn Named Pac-10 Track & Field Athlete of the Week

Arizona senior sprinter Brianna Glenn was named track and field athlete of the week for April 7-13 as announced by the Pac-10 office on Tuesday. Glenn earned the honor for her performance in the long jump at the Sun Angel Classic on Saturday, April 13 in Tempe, Ariz., where she won the event with an NCAA automatic qualifying mark of 21-5 (6.49m). She also placed second in the 100m with a time of 11.43.

Glenn has been a dominant force for the Wildcats this season. She has qualified for the Pac-10 Championships in the 100m, 200m, long jump and triple jump. She also has NCAA qualifying marks in the 100m and long jump. Glenn is the defending NCAA outdoor champion in the 200m and long jump events.

Glenn is a senior from La Mirada, Calif., and is completing her last year of eligibility. She currently is ranked No. 1 in the 100m according to USA Track & Field lists as of April 10, 2002.

The Wildcats will be back in action at the Mt. SAC Relays from April 19 through April 21, in Walnut, Calif.
