No. 1 Softball Beats No. 11 Oklahoma, 1-0

Oklahoma City, Okla.- Pitcher Jennie Finch had a career high 19 strikeouts to lead the softball team to a 1-0 victory over Oklahoma in nine innings on Wednesday. The victory marks Finch's 23rd win and 15th shutout of the season.

With the game scoreless through eight innings junior Lovie Jung doubled home freshman Crystal Farley from first base for the game's only run. Farley singled off of Oklahoma pitcher Kami Keiter previous to Jung's game winning double.

In the bottom of the ninth inning, with Oklahoma runners on first and second, Finch struck out Oklahoma's Leah Gulla to end the game. All three Oklahoma outs in the ninth inning were strikeouts.

The Cats managed four hits off of Keiter while Oklahoma earned three hits and three walks off of Finch.

Finch improves to 23-1 and the Cats improve to 40-5. Arizona will continue conference play when they travel to Stanford on Friday, April 19 at 7 p.m.
