Lindsey Yamasaki, Cori Enghusen Selected In WNBA Draft

SECAUCUS, N.J. - In the second round of the 2002 WNBA draft, the Miami Sol selected Lindsey Yamasaki with the 29th overall pick, and in the fourth round teammate Cori Enghusen went to the Houston Comets as the 58th overall selection. Both players came off spectacular years, helping to propel the Cardinal to an impressive 32-3 record and a number eight finish in the final national rankings.
Yamasaki finished her storied Stanford career ranked ninth on the all-time school scoring list with 1,497 points and second in Stanford history and fourth in Pac-10 history with 192 career 3-pointers. During her senior campaign she scored in double figures in 28 of her 32 appearances and on 11 occasions netted 20 or more points, while averaging a team leading 17.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists. Following the season she received recognition as an Honorable Mention Associated Press All-American and was named to the Pacific-10 Conference First Team.
During the 2001-2002 season, Enghusen, the Cardinal's defensive force in the paint, set the Stanford single season block record with 58. She finished tied for second in Stanford history in blocked shots with 136. Enghusen capped off her collegiate career averaging career highs of 5.3 points and 3.4 rebounds per game.
