Women's Golf In Second After First Day Of Pac-10 Championships

Walla Walla, Wash. - Junior Mikaela Parmlid shot a one-under-par 71 on Monday to lead the No. 12 USC women's golf team into second place after the first round of the 2002 Pac-10 Championships held at Walla Country Club.

Parmlid is tied with Yvonne Choe of UCLA for the individual lead. Jimin Kang of Arizona State and Lorena Ochoa of Arizona are tied for third with an even-par 72.

The Women of Troy (297) are four strokes behind Arizona (293) in second place, with California third (299), then Stanford (300) and UCLA (301).

Also for USC, senior Leila Chartrand and sophomore Anna Rawson each shot 75 to rest in a tie for 10th place, while juniors Yon Yim and Becky Lucidi are tied for 16th with a score of 76.
