Bruins Fourth after First Round at Pac-10 Championships

The UCLA men's golf team is fourth after the first round at the Pacific-10 Conference Championships, hosted by Oregon State at Trysting Tree Golf Club in Corvallis, OR.
The Bruins posted a team score of 362, two-over par, and trail first place Stanford, which posted a team score of six-under par 354. Oregon State is second at 355, followed by USC at 356. Arizona is fifth at 363.
The Pac-10 Tournament counts the best five of six scores over 72 holes.
Individually for the Bruins, sophomore Roy Moon is tied for fourth place after firing a first round score of 69, three-under par. Freshman Breene Murphy is tied for 16th at 72 and teammate John Poucher is tied for 24th at 73. Sophomore John Merrick and senior Parker McLachlin are tied for 30th with scores of 74, and sophomore Steve Conway is tied for 42nd at 75.
Stanford's Jim Seki and Blake Mastalir posted rounds of 66 and 67, respectively, to lead the field. Oregon State's Sean Deacon is third after carding a 68. Moon is tied with USC's Kevin Stadler.
The second round continues this afternoon and rounds three and four will be played on Friday and Saturday.
