Crimson Battles Gray Saturday At Martin Stadium

April 25, 2002

PULLMAN, Wash. --- The Crimson will be looking to avenge a 27-6 loss to the Gray last year in Spokane when Washington State plays its annual Crimson and Gray Game Saturday, April 27 at 2 p.m. in Martin Stadium.

The Crimson team is made up of first-string players and key reserves, while the Gray will feature everybody else. There will be two players serving both squads. Freshman Kyle Basler will take care of all the punts, while quarterback Chris Hurd will hold for kickers on both teams.

'We are basically going to go out there and have fun and get our timing down,' Crimson defensive end Fred Shavies said. 'The Gray also has a good chance to go out and get some time in a game situation.'

The Crimson and Gray Game will have 12-minute quarters with a five-minute halftime. Assistant coaches will help guide both teams and Head Coach Mike Price will assist with the broadcast of the contest, which can be seen on Fox Sports Northwest Sunday April 28 at 11 a.m. Bob Robertson and Jim Walden will also be providing the play-by-play and commentary live on KXLY 920.
